This is actually pretty relevant with all of the talk of aliens on the news lately. I definitely think that there is some other life out there. I mean, why would we be the only ones? That’s a bit conceited, right? The real question is whether these other forms of life would be able to survive on Earth and vice versa. Perhaps the environments are just so different that it would be too much of a shock.
Now, if aliens were to come to Earth, I’m sure I would be a bit skeptical of them, but I would probably trust them until given a reason not to. It’s like Jem and Will in Clockwork Angel. Jem always expects the best in people and will always assumes the worst. In this case, I would imagine that I would be more like Jem. What about you?
Speaking of aliens, does anyone know of any good alien books? The only one I can think of is the I Am Number Four series. Which reminds me, I still need to read the novella and the second book.
I absolutely agree that it would be kind of arrogant to assume ours is the only planet out there that can sustain life and intelligent life. Personally, though, if they're so much more advanced than we are, they'd be smart to stay the hell away from Earth! Think about it--we'd shoot them out of the sky, dissect them, then take their ship back to their home planet to dissect all their friends. So, yeah....
ReplyDeleteI've clearly put too much thought into this. :S
