Today, we have Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling. I'm going to number them so it is easier to discuss since there are so many of them.

This is pure love. I'm going to try to keep this as surface-based as possible and try not to draw what I know from the story into this. I own Numbers 1 and 5 and they are among my favorites out of the bunch. My least favorite is definitely the Mass Market Paperback, but I feel that this is sort of obvious. It sort of looks like a guide book.
The font on Number 1 is my absolute favorite. It surprises me every time when the UK versions do not use the lightning bolt font. I also prefer this font to Numbers 2 and 3 because it is a true gold instead of just yellow. I also really enjoy how the subtitle is integrated into the wall. In Number 2, the mirror is kind of cool, but that is probably just because I know the story. I would definitely be drawn to Number 1 more than Number 2 when just browsing. The other children's cover, Number 4, isn't my favorite. I appreciate that it has "Philosopher's Stone" on it instead of "Sorcerer's Stone," but it kind of looks like the train is going to hit Harry. Also, I don't really like the red block out for the font at the top. Then there is Number 5 which is nothing like any of the other ones. I love this one for the beauty of the stone. The colors in the UK Adult versions are so vibrant and I love them.
Which cover is your favorite?
