Top 10 Characters in 2011

Here I am with my Top 10 Characters in 2011! I cheated a little bit and chose some ensembles from books. Oops.

1. The characters from the Jack Daniels series by J.A. Konrath
Jack Daniels, Phineas Troutt, Harry McGlade, Herb Benedict--I love you all. If I remembered all of your names, that means I really loved you all.
2. The Warden from the Escape from Furnace series
by Alexander Gordon Smith
You’re a super creep, but it’s awesome.
3. A from the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard
This series would be nothing without you and your penchant for leaving weird notes.
4. Wendell from the Hero series by Jaime Buckley
Come back into my life! I miss you and your self-deprecating humor.
5. All of the people who submitted to
edited by Lily Zalon
You all made my life. I will cherish this book until the end of time.
6. Benny and Tom Imura from the
Rot & Ruin series by Jonathan Maberry
Such a good team. I never thought I would like zombie books. This is huge.
7. The boys from The Maze Runner series by James Dashner
I need to read the final book... like yesterday.
8. The desk from Cryer’s Cross by Lisa McMann
You are also a super creep.
9. Bernie Kosar from the I Am Number Four series by Pittacus Lore
I love you.
10. Sean Griswold’s Head from
Sean Griswold’s Head by Lindsey Leavitt
Never has the back of someone’s head inspired so much thought.
There you go! Who were your favorite characters from 2011?

  1. I love your characters. You picked a great variety though I don't know most of them. But they are definitely a varied group! I mean Bernie and The Warden on one list, LOVE IT!

Your cover choices work to make this so interesting to look at, too. Because they are all so different but work together.

But you know what my favorite one is... The Desk. Oh that desk haunted me. I had no idea that widget made noise for like the first month I had it on my site. Then every time I loaded up my site I freaked. Yeah, that desk is a total super creep! :) The desk and The Warden should seriously go on a date. Though have you seen The Warden's desk?

I have such a weird taste in books--sometimes I feel bad about it because my blog isn't generally focused. But then I remember that I am weird, so it's okay.

HAHAH The desk and The Warden going on a date. No, I haven't seen the Warden's desk yet--I'm intrigued now though!

  3. I have not read any of these books, fail! But I'll be reading The Maze Runner in 2012 and hopefully I can get to Sean Griswold's Head as well. Thanks for sharing!

I hope you enjoy! Sean Griswold's Head was super cute. I really liked The Maze Runner, but I've heard mixed opinions on it. I can't wait to see what you think!

  8. Sad to say, but I used to love the Jack Daniels series, but then Konrath went on his rant against the publishing industry and the more and more I got to "know" the author, the less I enjoyed his books. It kind of became hard for me to separate the person from the page, and I've pretty much given up on the series.

As for favorites of 2011, I adored Puck from the Iron Fey series, and Anna from Anna Dressed in Blood.

Here's wishing you an awesome new year filled with lots of great reads!

    Smiles!

Oh no, I'm sorry you had that experience with the Jack Daniels series. I still love the books.

I haven't read Anna Dressed in Blood yet--I'll need to!

    Happy New Year :)
